The Dragon Appraiser Part One eBook Viola Rivard

This was on promotion on Amazon when I snapped it up.

I ended up buying the rest of the trilogy. Honestly I didn't expect myself to, but i got caught up in the cute lovable story weaved between the two main characters. Once I started, I couldn't stop. I think I may buy into this many more times but it ended at three. I felt it was a little bit loss of potential, but the ride there was worth the money.

I'm very enchanted and thrilled by the characterizations from the main protagonists. They're predictable in a non-predictable way (like boy meets girl, wants girl, gets girl, happily ever after. But it's done so well in this trilogy that I enjoyed the predictability because I root for this couple and wanted them to be together SO much.)

The girl is a strong main character. She lives on her own terms or at least tries to unless her life is threatened...by none other than our charming and apathetic immortal dragon of course. When her life is threatened, she works with what she has to her advantage. And it succeeded.

She is an artifact appraiser and what does the dragon have more in his immortal life?

Match made in heaven.

At first he thought she was only there to steal his treasures, but the more he observed her, the more it confused him because she seemed to value his treasures and not just take whatever was there. When he confronted her, she inadvertently told him the history behind the treasures she picked out. It's very much like Scheherazade/One Thousand and One Nights, where she got to live another day because he's fascinated by the stories behind his valuables. And every day they spent together, the more he fell for her companionship, charms, looks and quirkiness. And him being this ethereal, powerful, gorgeous creature captured her adoration as well. This underlying thread of sexual tension culminated until that fateful day when they did the deed. Just FYI, that scene was just hot tamales. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Pretty soon, our main girl was in love but constantly questioned her dragon's devotion. It added a lot of depth and humor into their relationship when they bicker and she questions his "logical" thinking & marvels at his talented lack of tact. I'm just really scratching the surface of this book, because there's so much to write about. But once you read the book, you will love her as much as I do.

I loved how blunt the dragon was, no holding back. In some ways he reminds me of how some guys really are - totally clueless to what insensitive comments can come out of their mouths. Regardless he's still a very adorable and charming creature. His disinterest in human related activities (except, ahem, that one thing) is understandable, given that he has lived for so long. He knows human won't last and having affections for one was akin to being stupid. Until, of course, he met our female protagonist. Then he slowly changes his tune and starts to enjoy human companionship. We can see him develop into a much more well-rounded individual under the tutelage and gentle (sometimes rough) guidance of our girl. In the span of a novel, the change in him is still very believable and endearing. I ship him all the way, even if he doesn't know what love is. Because love isn't always about verbiage, it's about actions. And his actions prove that despite himself and the way he feels, he loves his woman deeply.

I WISH THERE WAS MORE THAN 3 BOOKS!

The Dragon Appraiser Part One eBook Viola Rivard Reviews

This is a fun story about a girl who is sacrificed to a dragon yet no one has seen such dragon for years. She doesn't believe he’s real. Yet finds a treasure where many have thrown into a hole on top the mountain. As she starts to leave with a bag full of the treasure something stops her. Severrn the Dragon Hole her with his tail and plucks the crown off her head. To stay alive for a bit longer she starts to tell him the significance of the crown. And he has her appraise other items until he starts to notice her in a different way. Enjoyable story that is very well written and entertaining to read.
I received a free ARC copy from the author in exchange for a honest review.

We meet Madja and Sevrrn.

Madja dosent belive in what she cant see and she dosent put much stock into the myths of her people. What will her reaction be when she comes face to face with a Dragon?

Sevrrn likes that she talks to him. He likes that she can tell him the history of his treasures but is that all he wants from her?

They are both attracted to each other but will they act upon it well you will have to read the book to find out im not telling.

We are left with a bit of a cliff hanger of what will happen next now we have to wait for Viola to release book 2 to find out.
This was a big departure from her wolf shifter books. It was a easy read with humor and romance. There was only two characters a dragon shifter and a young woman. She was captured tied up and given as a sacrifice to the Dragon. She managed to escape her ropes. She was buying time to escape from the lair when the Dragon grabbed her. The Dragon being superior and full of himself felt she should spend the time teaching him about his trinkets. So her duties were spent giving appraisals and uses of his treasures. He believes that she belongs to him because the town people presented her as an offering. Then things got personal and a strange attraction occurs. I can't wait to read part two.
How can you not love them. What started a play thing lead to something interesting. I will look for more from this series and cannot wait to find out a about this couple. I find them both interesting and could not put the book down. The stories were not to short there much going you will love them none the less and jump into the next read with the same though of what is the next adventure about. That is what I really loved about this series because it did not drag on with unnecessary issues but it also kept you wanting more. I do hope that there are several more books in the future regarding the couples future and there child. The action, romance and wonder , not to mention the interesting things that will have you laughing.
I find this story line a very different twist to a topic that has been used. This dragon, Sverrn, a totally unaware shifter in a whole new sense, he knows nothing about humans about their biology or even sex, emotions doesn't understand them. He has mostly been in dragon form and has had no interaction with them.

Madga, a very human women, that is taken to his lair to as a tribute to him. After playing in the piles of gold and trinkets and obtaing a few for herself Sverrn appears in dragon form and stops her fleeing with his goodies. She then proceeds to intrigue him with her knowledge of some of the artifacts and trinkets that he then starts bringing her more to keep her there.

Once Sevrrn, switches to human forms he starts learning about all sorts of things that appear mainly Madg's form. He knows nothing about sex and begins to question in a most clinical and comical way. I love how Viola interprets this and makes it totally unique. Will definitely read the rest.
