Good book, but not for me. I know a lot of people enjoy when there is constant battle between the H&h. I'm not one of them. I don't mind it as long as it doesn't exceed past 40-50% of the book, but to have that kind of angst up until the very last page just doesn't work for me. I liked the h very much BUT emotionally she was an idiot. She was the source of the problem the start and she didn't trust the H even though he always proved to be trustworthy. He was the one who should have been angry yet she always had a chip on her shoulder. I gave this 4 stars because I can see where many would absolutely love this book. If I was to rate it purely based on what like to read then I would give it 2.5 maybe. I adored the H and his friends. Sadly I won't be reading this series simply based on the h. I've read other reviews that state they are all the same throughout the series.Tags : Dragon Bound (Elder Races) [Thea Harrison] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. THE FIRST NOVEL IN THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING ELDER RACES SERIES! Half-human and half-wyr,Thea Harrison,Dragon Bound (Elder Races),Berkley,0425241505,Romance - Paranormal,Dragons,Dragons;Fiction.,Fantasy fiction,Paranormal romance stories,Paranormal romance stories.,Supernatural,AMERICAN LIGHT ROMANTIC FICTION,AMERICAN SCIENCE FICTION AND FANTASY,Adult & contemporary romance,FICTION Romance Action & Adventure,FICTION Romance Fantasy,FICTION Romance Paranormal General,FICTION Romance Paranormal Shifters,Fiction,Fiction - Romance,Fiction-Romance,General Adult,MASS MARKET,Monograph Series, any,Occult fiction,Romance - Paranormal - General,RomanceGeneral,United States, romance; paranormal romance; dragons; magic; thea harrison books; elder races series; dragon shifter romance; dragon romance; contemporary romance; supernatural romance; romance novels; romance books; paranormal books; fantasy books; shifter romance; shapeshifter romance books; shapeshifter romance; fantasy romance series; fantasy romance books for adults; fantasy romance books; fantasy romance; paranormal romance series; paranormal romance for adults; paranormal romance books; fiction; fiction books; urban fantasy, thea harrison books;elder races series;dragon shifter romance;dragon romance;dragons;magic;contemporary romance;supernatural romance;romance novels;romance books;romance;paranormal books;fantasy books;shifter romance;shapeshifter romance books;shapeshifter romance;fantasy romance series;fantasy romance books for adults;fantasy romance books;fantasy romance;paranormal romance series;paranormal romance for adults;paranormal romance;paranormal romance books;thea harrison;ghost;fiction;novels,FICTION Romance Action & Adventure,FICTION Romance Fantasy,FICTION Romance Paranormal General,FICTION Romance Paranormal Shifters,Romance - Paranormal - General,Fiction - Romance,American Light Romantic Fiction,American Science Fiction And Fantasy,Occult fiction,Fiction,Adult & contemporary romance
Dragon Bound Elder Races Thea Harrison 9780425241509 Books Reviews
Holy crap! I *loved* this book! This is a hot urban fantasy/shifter romance with an amazing twist. I have a tendency to get annoyed with books that are too predictable, but I totally did not expect this one. The book starts off with a bang... and doesn't stop! It's action-packed, funny, sexy, and an all-around great read. I loved the dynamic between the main characters, Pia and Dragos. I can't wait to read more about them and their adventures! Highly recommend!

Thea Harrison has written a magical yet gripping story where heroes come in many shapes, sizes, and forms and stalk and rule many lands - from high rise buildings in modern day cities to mystical lands only dreamed of in fairy tales. The world building in Dragon Bound is so vivid and real that not only can you visualize it, you can scent it. The plot the author weaves is intricate, rich with characters in both human and mythical form that are thrown together by circumstances not always of their own choosing. They are at times determined, stubborn, passionate, and funny.
Pia (1/2 human & 1/2 wyr) is a woman schooled from birth to hide herself and her powers from everyone...and even she doesn't fully understand what she is or how great her powers are. A bad decision with an ex-boyfriend leads her to steal an item from the hoard of the most powerful Elder of all - Dragos. As the saying goes, Pia is caught between a rock and a hard place. I loved this heroine. Pia is determined, intelligent, spunky, and funny...a refreshing character that is willing to go toe-to-toe with the mighty dragon. Poor Dragos never really stood a chance!
Dragos is in a word - Magnificient! What a man/creature! Harrison's description of him in both man and dragon form is so vivid & real that you cannot help but believe that this gorgeous, domineering alpha male can change into a mythical dragon right before your eyes. Both passionate and feared, Dragos is truly King of all the Elders and accustomed to having everyone recognize that fact, but the mighty dragon has met his match in Pia. The chemistry between them is sizzling as they must stand together to fight enemies that want them both dead as well as fight their growing attraction for one another. While Pia helps Dragos open up to new possibilities including love, Dragos helps her discover her own true magical and beautiful self. The cast of secondary characters in Dragon Bound is also outstanding and deserving of a lead spot in future books.
Dragon Bound is a riveting read with mesmerizing characters, an intricate plot, and yes, some passionate love scenes! What more can you ask for? This is a must read!

I thought this was an excellent shape shifter romance. The author did a brilliant job of planning out the story so that all the plot threads wove together and there were no moments where the reader said 'Um, what?' Small details early on in the story helped to make sense of bigger changes later on, and everything stayed 'in character'. I thought the plot was unique and enjoyed the ongoing game of solving one mystery only to uncover another that drew us on.
The author put a huge amount of effort into creating a world of magic with appropriate rules, and although some things weren't spelled out to the reader, we were able to understand that there was a complex system that had definite rules, and that the author wasn't just making it up as she went along and going with what was convenient for the characters at the time.
Dragos had a fearsome reputation, and a common mistake of authors is to tell the reader that the hero had earned such a reputation, but not let us see it for ourselves. While Dragos made a great romantic hero, there was also enough of the fearsome predator still about him (particularly in battle scenes) that we were able to believe his reputation had been fairly earned.
The side characters were brilliant. I loved the gryphons. I want to read Rune and Grayson's books next, but I see the next one is Trick's. Either way, I'm definitely reading more of these.
I have read this book three times now. I read quickly and I often forget what a book is about when I am only looking at the covers, so I end up reading the book again. The first time I read this book, I gave it two stars. Pic comes off as weak. I don't need the female lead to be a physical fighter, but I do expect them to have an intriguing spirit. She did not capture my attention. And Dragos was so one dementional...I wish there had been more from his perspective. The second time I read this book, I gave it four stars....I was just in the perfect mood. The third time through, I was noticing a lot of things I didn't like- especially in the supporting characters.
To sum up---there were typos and some character flaws-- but it was a fun read. I would recommend this book.
