Romy has a one night stand with a masked man at a Halloween party, and the result was baby Luke - So named because dad was dressed as Darth Vader. Now a year later Romy is trying to find Darth so she can let him know about his son.

On the whole I liked Frisky Business, what made it work for me was that leading lady Romy and the supporting cast were likeable and well developed - I especially liked both of the extended families in the story and their interactions.

In the nits category: the story is a bit long, by the halfway point you know where the story is going and it just a matter of how the characters get there, their paths turning due to a series of misinterpreted half conversations. For me, the clumsy conception scene flashback could have been pared down - Romy shares the story later with friends. And the 'BDSM for beginners' discussions are probably fine for those who want to know what it is without actually reading a BDSM romance but they could have been streamlined. (And, this is not exactly a nit, but for those of us on the US side of the pond, some of the UK/Irish slang was a mystery. )

I know that seems like a lot of nits but still this kindle cheapie had an interesting hook, some cute and humorous moments, and a nice HEA with a great final line.

A good story. But I never would have guessed who Luke's father was. Also, waiting until the very end to reveal it sort of felt like the author realized she had no time to finish and threw it in at the last minute.
Story line is cute, but not even rereading some pages helped.
Please fix it. I'd love to reread it when you choose a country to set it in.
Found this author by accident. Love how funny and witty she writes. The story May be predictable but has many many funny scenes...Will definitely recommend to friends and family
I liked it. However, it was too long and I figured out both Kit's secret and who Luke's father was at about 30%. With every page, I kept trying to guess how all would be revealed. When I'm predicting the 'reveal' plot at 30% but already know how it's going to end, I found it wasn't that great of a read. Also, all of the BDSM teachings...totally unnecessary. A mention or two would have been OK but there were at least one or two chapters on it. That was too much.
First we get a cute and interesting introduction, I felt like this could be something. But then there was this long section with nothing really happening. Seeds were put out there but they didn't really grow. And then Boom, everything rushed towards the end. What I adored with Some girls do, was the continous growth of the relationship. That I could see each moment that changed the characters and their feelings. That was lacking here. Also the humour wasn't as great in this one.
This was such a great book with a cast of really likeable characters! I admit, I had my doubts about the premise. I couldn't imagine how I could relate to someone who had a one night stand with a stranger whose face she never saw. Apparently grief makes us do strange things and somehow Clodagh Murphy made this work! Romy is such a great, down to earth character. In fact, I loved everyone in the book. I knew what Kit's deal was, but I loved reading about Romy and Lesley trying to figure it out. The "incident nook" had me laughing out loud. Ethan's misunderstanding of certain things and a gift he gave Romy was also hilarious. He was just adorable. I figured out the ending but it didn't make it any less sweet. Overall, this is just a really great book with a happy ending. I enjoyed it so much and I would love to read more from this author, but it looks like this is her only e-book on at the moment.
I'm not a huge fan of rom-coms. Full Stop. Nice, light hearted, but sometimes too light headed for my tastes. Still, this one looked interesting. I'm very happy I gave it a read. Romy is a young woman who's had a few things go wrong in her life, but a few have gone right, as well. She's still reeling from family tragedy, business reversals, etc. You know. Life. She goes to a party, against her better judgement, but that's when things begin to change. Big changes. Her high school sweet heart kit has been through some reversals as well. He returns home to Dublin after living in New York, where he had to watch everything he worked for go away. Then the real comedy ensues. Funny, sexy, twists, turns, and several 'Did I just read that right?' moments later, and you have 'Frisky Business'. A few things are predictable. It's a rom-com. You expect a happy ending. What Ms. Murphy is truly good at is keeping you interested and guessing until you see just how you're going to get from point A to point B, and making you care about the people you meet on the way. I loved this story, and will read more from Ms Murphy.
